Downtown Redevelopment

The Silsbee Economic Development Corporation has identified downtown revitalization as a priority within its goals and objectives. With the Pines Theatre winning the Texas Downtown Association’s Enduring Business of the Year in 2005 and the library expansion project now completed, the board feels like the opportunity is right to develop a revitalization plan. A group of Lamar students is currently working on a revitalization plan that will include a survey for area businesses and citizens. Some of the projects presently being considered for the downtown area or more parking and a farmers market.
